Five UNCSA Short films will screen online as part of the Ivy Film Festival hosted March 30-April 6 by Brown University. All events are free, virtual and open to all.
UNCSA films will screen as “Official Selection” films online and on-demand April 1-4.
Ivy Film Festival events include conversations with Sacha Baron Cohen, Mindy Kaling, Composer Randall Poster, Times Up’s Tina Tchen and Amber Tamblyn, Isabel Sandoval, Robert Schwartzman, Janicza Bravo, and a conversation about animation with Bobby Rubio, Radford Sechrist and Tina Obo.

“Rocky Road” will screen in the “ENDURANCE” Shorts Block. Showcasing the depths of human resilience, “ENDURANCE” captures moments of humanity and fortitude in the face of adversity.
“In Our Nature” will screen in the “REMEMBERANCE” Shorts Block, highlighting the importance of both love and loss, captured through films about home, family, and the ever-evolving world around us.
"échappé", “Kindred Kings” and "Pink, White & Blue" will screen in the “DEFIANCE” Shorts Block. Featuring brave and bold change-makers, "DEFIANCE" celebrates the unlikely rebel within all of us.
"Pink, White & Blue” is also a Grand Jury Selected film and will be compete for a jury prize.

"échappé" was directed by Rebecca Walters; written by Walters and Brandon Rieff; produced by Rieff and Julia Lofton Walpole with cinematography by Rachel Schattle; production design by Shelby Grzech; editing by Joe Linford; sound design by Linford; music by Alexander and Christopher Egersdoerfer; choreography by Gary Taylor (Dance '90), founder and artistic director of Winston-Salem Festival Ballet, and Isabel Newport, a third-year contemporary dance student in the School of Dance; costume design by Rachel Nicole Anderson; and wig and makeup design by Brittan Furr.

In Our Nature
"In Our Nature" was written by Echo Wilson and Nick Bailey; directed and animated by Echo Wilson; produced by Nick Bailey with animation and coloring by Mckayla Singleton, Abby Davenport, and Kamryn Szeliga; editing and sound design by Jacob Boyle and music by Alexandra Franco Zorro.
“In Our Nature” will screen online in the “REMEMBERANCE” shorts block beginning Thursday, April 1.
Kindred Kings
“Kindred Kings” was co-written and directed by Gray, and co-written/produced by School of Filmmaking student Jo Hatcher, with cinematography and editing by School of Filmmaking student Zachary Smith. Production design is by Romello Huins and Gray, who also provided costume design, with makeup by Natosha Martin, and music by School of Design and Production student Nick Parnell. Vocals were composed and performed by School of Drama student Deandre Sevon and Mlaj.

Pink, White & Blue
"Pink, White & Blue" was directed, edited and sound designed by Ash Malone; produced by Epiphany James, Ellie Emfinger, and Erin Gallagher with cinematography by Ian Price and music by Michael Gaffney.
“Pink, White & Blue" will screen online in the “DEFIANCE” shorts block beginning Thursday, April 1.
Rocky Road
"Rocky Road" was written and directed by Madison Crisp and Victoria Sosa; produced by Robert Mageau; animated by Crisp, Sosa, Sean Browne, Riley Harber, Melissa Rooker, Beau Sheil, Vale Stanley, and Alaina Watkins; edited by Isabel Rodriguez; sound design by Desiree Winns; music by Scott Rodeheaver.
