The 19th annual Riverside International Film Festival is on again and going virtual for the second year in a row because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The festival begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27. The event ends Saturday, May 1, with the announcements of awards. Films begin in the early afternoon and are screened into the evening across the five days of the festival. The first four days feature question-and-answer sessions on films.
This year’s installment will feature 43 films from 14 countries, including Croatia, Austria, the United Kingdom, Macao, Brazil, Columbia, Russia, Iran, Spain, Portugal, Australia, Japan, Hungary and the United States, a news release states.
Categories include Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Animations and Student Films. Audience Awards and Jury Awards will be given in each category.
Tickets can be bought online at riversidefilmfestival.org. The festival will be broadcast online.
Organizers plan for future festivals to be presented in a hybrid format that includes online and in-person viewing as county health guidelines allow, the release states.
