CLEVELAND, Ohio - While the coronavirus pandemic has led to major disruptions around the world, it doesn’t mean you have to let it ruin celebrating mom this Mother’s Day.
We took a look at many of the major streaming services and found 9 options you can enjoy with mom this Sunday. Check out the complete list below, including where each film is available online.
1. ‘Mama Mia!’
Based on the Broadway hit musical and featuring a star-studded cast led by Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, ‘Mama Mia!’ might be the story of a girl trying to find her father, but it’s just as much a tale of the relationship between a mother and her daughter.
Rent or purchase ‘Mama Mia!’ on Amazon. Bonus: The sequel is currently streaming on Hulu.
2. ‘Freaky Friday’
Whether you prefer the 1976 version starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster or the newer version with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, the film forces a mother and daughter who don’t get along to better understand the other by spending a day in her shoes.
Both films are available for streaming on Disney+. The original ‘Freaky Friday’ and the 2003 remake are also available for rent or purchase on Amazon.
3. ‘The Sound of Music’
Julie Andrews stars as a governess who uses music to bring joy (and love) to a family that has lost its mother.
‘The Sound of Music’ is available for rent or purchase on Amazon and is also streaming on Disney+.

This underrated Disney-Pixar gem might appeal more to moms with younger children. The story of a free-spirited princess who clashes with her mother’s desires for her future and her own dreams and the responsibility she needs to take for her actions.
Available for streaming on Disney+.
5. ‘Steel Magnolias’
The ’80s hit has been a favorite of moms and daughters for decades and features a cast of major Hollywood stars including Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Dolly Parton and Shirley MacLaine.

6. ‘The Joy Luck Club’
Based on the award-winning novel by Amy Tan, the story revolves around a group of mothers and daughters who both explore their own pasts to help to better understand their relationships together.
Rent or purchase ‘The Joy Luck Club’ on Amazon.
7. ‘Stepmom’
Julie Roberts makes her second appearance on the list as the soon-to-be stepmom of a boy and girl who are also struggling with the impending death of their own mother, played by Susan Sarandon.
