It's spooky season and you know what that means — the return of all the best animated Halloween films! So grab your friends, make some ghoultastic cookies, pull out that apple cider and start carving those pumpkins!

This is week three of our weekly Halloween movie recommendations. We've seen the best horror movies, the best spooky movies and now it’s all about the best animated Halloween films of all time. So without further ado, here are five of the best-animated Halloween films to binge:

"Monster House" (2006)

“Monster House” is a Halloween staple, and as a kid, this movie was as scary as it could get. This is the story of three friends who believe that the old house in their neighborhood is more than just a creepy old house. With Halloween right around the corner, the friends have to race against the clock to find a way to destroy the house before all the trick-or-treaters come out and the house comes alive.

"The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993)

Disney’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is one of the most iconic Halloween films of all time. The film centers itself around Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloweentown. He gets bored with the annual traditions of scaring humans in the real world and wants to change things up.

One night, Jack gets lost and finds himself in a neighboring town, Christmastown. He gets a spooky idea and decides to kidnap Santa Claus and take over as Christmas king. But his plans don’t go as smoothly as he has hoped.

"Coraline" (2009)

As a kid and even as an adult, “Coraline” has left you covering your eyes with a pillow and wanting to sleep with the lights on.

This movie is the story of a young girl named Coraline who has just moved into a new home with her family. While exploring her new house, she discovers a secret door leading to an alternate universe — a sinister version of her own.

She is so excited about her little secret until her Other Mother and the rest of her button-eyed alternative family try to keep her in their world forever. Coraline has to find a way to make it back home before it’s too late and she becomes button-eyed too.

"Alvin And The Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein" (1999)

We are taking a step back from the creepy and crawling with the cute and silly “Alvin And The Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein.” In this cartoon adventure, the three chipmunks: Alvin, Simon and Theodore, have a performance at a brand new amusement park with a movie theme. After the park has closed, the three boys explore the park in excitement for their new gig.

One of the spooky attractions featured in the park is Frankenstein’s castle, with the real mad scientist bringing the most to life in his lab. But when the clan crosses paths with the green monster, they realize looks are deceiving and find that this monster is not as scary as people say he is.

"Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular" (2003)

This is one of my favorite Halloween films of all time. “Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular” is a whimsical fantasy-filled story that isn't as scary as the title may have you think.

The story takes you through the adventure of Hannah Marie’s first trick-or-treating experience. Hannah is stuck with her rotten older cousin who is always up to no good, and he is not happy he has to babysit on the scariest night of the year. But he decides to scare Hannah Marie’s tutu off.
