After Schitt's Creek ended its six season run last year, fans have speculated as to when they can see the Rose family reunited again onscreen. The sleeper hit show became a runaway success in its final seasons, winning the cast both critical and commercial acclaim. The show's last season swept all seven major comedy awards at the 2020 Emmy Awards—the first time a comedy or drama series received all seven in one year. The show also made actor/creator/writer/director Dan Levy a star, as he starred in the series alongside his father, Eugene Levy.

With all of this fanfare, it makes sense that fans would not want the series to be completely over. Such has spurred rumors of a Schitt's Creek movie, featuring the original cast. In the past year, a few of the series regulars spoke out about this possibility. While nothing has been confirmed, below, find everything we know so far about a possible Schitt's Creek film.

Annie Murphy kicked off rumors in a recent interview.

Murphy played Alexis Rose on the series, one of the two Rose adult children and sister to Dan Levy's David Rose. While speaking with Us Weekly, Murphy expressed enthusiastic support for the possibility of a movie, even joking that she is bribing Dan Levy to write it.

“I mean, I’ve been sending Dan $5 a day in the mail as a bribe. So far, I have not heard back about a movie officially. But, oh, my God, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day,” Murphy said. “Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that.”

Murphy speculated as to what the Rose family would be up to today and further discussed her excitement at the possibility of reuniting with the rest of the cast.

“Did David and Patrick adopt a kid?” Murphy asked. “I sure hope Alexis doesn’t because I think she is perhaps not quite in that yet, but, I don’t know. I just want to see everyone on screen again and I will be a happy camper. … We were very lucky to have an amazing group of writers on this show. My mom and dad have been rewatching the show because they miss me and my mom keeps reminding me of lines that I’d completely forgotten about.”

Dan Levy "would love to explore" the idea.

While speaking with T&C, Levy, who created, produced, wrote, and starred in the series, did not rule out the prospect of a movie. However, he was somewhat more hesitant than his co-star, Murphy, noting that he would want to wait a bit before diving back into the world of Schitt's Creek. Levy even called out Murphy for swirling rumors about the possible film.

"That pesky woman!" Levy said, referring to Murphy. "No, not right now. I hope eventually. Listen, I love everybody so much. I love Annie, even for hinting at that. We had such a great time making the show and I think if the idea is right, I would love to explore what a movie could look like."

He continued: "But, I don't have that idea yet. I'm still searching for it. So, my fingers are crossed, but I also think you need to give people a little time to miss you. So, I'm taking some time and we'll see what happens in the next couple of years, but my fingers are tightly crossed."

This isn't the only time Dan Levy has discussed the possibility of a Schitt's Creek movie. After the 2020 Emmys, Levy shared that, if the idea is right, he wants to work with the cast again.

"If there is an idea that pops into my head it has to be really freaking good because this is a nice way to say goodbye," Levy said, per Variety. "Fingers crossed we get a nice idea popping into our head soon….I would love to work with these people again."

Eugene Levy has "not ruled out the possibility."

The show's patriarch has, unsurprisingly, also been asked about the possibility of a movie. He, too, was similarly enthusiastic but vague.

"We’ve never ruled out the possibility that, you know, we could come back in some form, be it a movie or another Christmas thing or who knows? But nothing has been ruled out, believe me," he said during an interview with Fox 5 New York, per ET. "The opportunity to work with everybody again would be fantastic, because it was the best six years of my life, no question."
