Instead of the usual sea of orange and black, rainbows filled the home of the San Francisco Giants on Friday as Oracle Park hosted the city’s first-ever Pride Movie Night.

Hopes for a big Pride celebration parade were again dashed by the pandemic, for the second year in a row, but the Dykes on Bikes were still able to continue their traditional opening-act procession, this time motoring around a baseball park warning track instead of up Market Street.

Palm trees in Willie Mays Plaza wrapped in rainbow hues greeted 8,000 people entering the park to see a screening of “In The Heights,” the just-released movie adaptation of Lin Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning musical.

The two-day event concludes Friday evening with a screening of “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.” Both films are being presented as part of the Frameline45 Film Festival.
