ORANGE VILLAGE, Ohio -- A passing thunderstorm didn’t stop Pinecrest’s drive-in movie “experience” in displaying the “Trolls” movie last night.
Over 50 vehicles paid the $10 per car price to park behind Pottery Barn as they waited for FunFlicks Outdoor Movies to fill their giant inflatible screen once the storm passed.
Pinecrest plans to host the drive-in movie events on four consecutive Thursday nights starting with “Trolls” tonight. Each week, people can vote on Pinecrest’s Facebook page to pick the next movie to be shown. With most movie theaters still closed, drive-in theaters have become a popular option for socially distanced fun.
Proceeds benefit Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio. Nonperishable food donations will also be accepted for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
Gates for the 9 p.m. showings open at 7:30 p.m., allowing moviegoers to walk around or grab a bite to eat beforehand. Pinecrest restaurants will be offering special take-out menus for people watching the movie.
Pinecrest is located off I-271 at the Harvard Road exit.
