"You Know His Name" was one of four 2021 UNCSA films — which also included “JAZMIN,” "Mundance" and “Tiger Blanket” — that screened online Aug. 5-7, 2021, in the Joedance Film Festival.
On Saturday, Aug. 7 at the end of the student film screening block, “You Know His Name” was awarded the Judges’ Choice Award for Student Filmmaking. Writer/Director Clarke Phillips accepted the award in a pre-recorded video.
Jo Hatcher, Aiden Winter-Deely, Abby Davenport, Bobby Mageau, and Phillips represented UNCSA and their films in pre-recorded Q&A sessions after each of their films screened.
This is the second year that Joedance has hosted a student film screening block and the second year that a UNCSA film as been awarded Judges’ Choice. “Painted Love” won the first Judges’ Choice Award for Student Filmmaking in 2020.
