“The Wishbone Boys” premiers Saturday, August 28 in Tuscaloosa, but the book - a companion piece to the move - is available on Amazon.
“The Wishbone Boys” tells the story of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s dominant football run utilizing that seemingly unstoppable offense from 1971-82 under coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The premier is set for the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.
The movie contains interviews with former Alabama players, coaches, fans and observers as well as archival footage.
Like the movie, the book focuses on Bryant’s necessary change to the wishbone offense. It’s told by the players, coaches and sports writers that lived it, in their own word. The book shows the details of the wishbone offense and why it was so important to Alabama football history. In that span, Bryant won three national championships in 1973, 1978 and 1979 out of his six with the wishbone offense.
The book is listed for $18.99 on Amazon and in stock.
