A crescent moon rises as families flock to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk’s parking lot on Third Street to watch “50 First Dates” during the first installment of the seaside amusement park’s Drive-In Movies Saturday night. With the Boardwalk unable to present their traditional movies on the beach this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, the seaside amusement park pivoted to provide locals a new safe option for a fun night out. The rest of the series includes “Knives Out,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Lost,” “Jumanji,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Bad Boys for Life,” “Captain Marvel,” “It,” “Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Halloween” and “Hocus Pocus.” For information: beachboardwalk.com/Drive-In-Movies.
