The Alexandria Film Festival has selected 40 works for its 2021 streaming festival, which starts Nov. 11.
The films this year touch on a wide variety of topics, including military service in the Salute to Service Members showcases, COVID, women in sports, neighborhood gentrification, dance, grief — and even one movie that's a sci-fi cosplay action comedy.

In addition, in a unique arts-focused collaboration, the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra (ASO) will present a performance in early November of several original short films screened with live music. Those performances are Nov. 6 and 7.
The annual Alexandria Film Festival presents independent feature-length films and shorts of all genres by both emerging and established filmmakers, and its mission "is to promote cinema as an important cultural, educational and entertainment asset to our highly engaged audience."
