WIth your pajamas on and popcorn at the ready, take your six-feet-by-six-feet seat on the Levitt Pavilion lawn for movie night surrounded, but not too surrounded, by tons of your closest friends and total strangers.
SteelStacks announced this week its newest socially distanced get-together for the month of September: the Levitt Lawn Slumber Party Movie Series. Each Tuesday in September, the Levitt Pavilion will turn into an outdoor theater for a spaced-out crowd, showing both classics and recent favorites.
On Sept. 8, the series will kick off with the 20th anniversary of the cheerleading classic “Bring It On,” followed by “Pitch Perfect” on Sept. 15, “Legally Blonde” on Sept. 22 and “Grease” on Sept. 29. Plus, there’s a special screening of “Mean Girls” on the best day to watch “Mean Girls:” Oct. 3.
Similar to Musikfest, the lawn will be divided into six-foot-by-six-foot squares with safe separation from other groups. Each square can fit four people, so grab your three favorite movie-watching partners. Each square will cost $20 to reserve — $18 if you’re a student or senior and $17.50 if you’re an ArtsQuest member — and they’re available now on SteelStacks’ website.
In addition to the social distancing, of course, masks are required except when eating. Food and drink will be available from the Mack Truck Stop.
All films start at 7:30 p.m., with the exception of “Mean Girls,” which will start at 8 p.m.
